Baseline Information

back

As the baseline information characterises the conditions before initiation of the project, it provides a useful starting point in the assessment of project induced impacts, comparison of site alternatives and design features for the development of appropriate mitigation measures. The field visit and the docum.ented information together provided first hand knowledge of the project profile and the ecology of the project environment to (i) provide a ready reference predicting future trends in ecological baseline (ii) assess conservation values of the biohabitats likely to be impacted by the proposed project (iii) identify impacts on conservation values (iv) develop mitigation measures for incorporating conservation concerns in the planning and implementation of the proposed project.
