Measurement of environmental quality parameters for providing baseline scenario and trends prior to the initiation of a development project is an essential step in determining the post project environmental changes and their impacts. The selection of environmental parameters for baseline studies is a process largely governed by the objectives of the study and to some extent the methodology adopted for such an assessment procedures. Base line studies consist of a combination of desk studies, field surveys and data analysis. The subsequent pages of this section describe briefly the approach adopted for conducting baseline studies for the assessment of impacts for the proposed LPG Plant.
