Scope of Work

The following is the space of work outlined for the study entrusted to the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. 1. Identification of the various operations involved during the construction, operation and maintenance phases of the proposed project that may have significant impacts on wildlife species and their habitats in the project area. 2. Assessment of the existing statues of the wildlife habitats (maritime zone, coasts, mangroves, creeks, marshes, forests, riparian areas, rivers, streams, lakes etc.) and wildlife species (aquatic, avian and terrestrial) present in the project area. 3. Identification, evaluation and prediction of impacts that may significantly affect wildlife and their habitats. 4. Developing migratory strategies for the likely impacts that would be determined after the study. 5. Outline legal/statutory obligations to be fulfilled by the project proponent under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972; Environmental (Protection) Act, 1986; Guidelines for Siting of Industry, 1984; and forest (Conservation) Act as amended in 1992. |
