Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemical Limited (BRPL), a vertically integrated company under the administrative control of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas proposed to set up a Diesel Hydro Processing Unit (DHPU) in the existing complex at Dhaligaon district of the Assam state.

The objective of setting up of the proposed DHPU is to treat and upgrade the existing quality of High Speed Diesel (HSD) to meet the stringent new quality specifications of HSD with respect to sulphur content, cetane number, poly aromatic content, distillation, stability etc.

The diesel streams obtained from processing of 1.2 mm TPA of Assam crude and 1.2 mm TPA of imported crude shall be hydro treated under DHPU.
