The proposal to set up a Diesel Hydro Processing Unit (DHPU) by the authorities of the Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. is an endeavor to conform to the new quality specifications of high speed diesel with respect to sulphur contnet, cetane number, density and polycyclic aromatic compounds. Also, because of the quest for more productive technology to maximise diesel production, the proposal also envisages installation of distillates yield enhancement facility viz. a Vaccum Distillation Unit (VDU).

Both these facilities are proposed to be housed in identified sites along with othe production units within the existing complex of BRPL at Dhalighaon.
