Because the proposed road improvements involve only minimal changes in alignment, the need for resettlement of people living along the road has been kept to a minimum. Social and resettlement issues arising from this project were not examined in detail during this study. It should be noted, however, that the MOEF calls for the completion of a rehabilitation plan for the people relocated as a result of the project in its letter dated March 5th, 1997 (Annexure I).
