WII-Category 2 Centre: Project Associate I

Jonathan Edward De Rozario: Project Associate I (International Relations)
I grew up in the coastal district of Mahe, which is a part of the Puducherry U.T. I have always been drawn close to nature and my interactions with several biologists during my undergrad days, led me to opt for postgraduation in Wildlife Studies, which I studied at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. After my Masters, I got the opportunity to work with NCBS on the Dhole Project and the Wildlife Trust of India’s Amphibian Recovery Project. These internships better equipped me with knowledge of field survey techniques and community engagement. Shortly I was selected as a Trainee for the Delegation of the European Union to India, where I looked into the India-EU partnerships in the areas of Climate, Energy and Environment. This enhanced my knowledge of international conventions related to the Environment and policies on conservation. As part of the International Relations team here at WII-C2C, I get to liaise with various stakeholders of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention and contribute to the capacity-building initiatives hosted by the centre.
Ms. Meghna Ramesh: Project Associate I (Capacity Building)
I am from the Malabar region of Kerala and hold an integrated master’s degree in Systems Biology from Hyderabad Central University, along with an additional master’s degree from Pondicherry Central University. Following my studies, I had the opportunity to work as a Civic Service International Volunteer with France Volontaires on the Mediterranean island of Corsica—a picturesque paradise of mountains and beaches. In this role, I served as an environmental educator and participated in cultural exchange initiatives. I was actively involved in organizing workshops, cultural programs, and hiking activities. This experience played a pivotal role in shaping my interest in capacity building and fostering connections between nature and communities.
Currently, I am working as a Project Associate-I for Capacity Building at the Category 2 Centre on World Natural Heritage Management and Training for the Asia and Pacific Region, Wildlife Institute of India.\
Ms. Athulya NK: Project Associate I (Communication and Outreach)
As a multidisciplinary artist and architect, I harness art to drive nature conservation. My academic foundation in architecture sparked a passion for sustainable design and eco-friendly materials. This passion evolved into a deep reverence for the natural world, inspiring me to delve into ecological studies. My collaboration with the Good Earth Organization, a Kerala-based NGO, enabled me to design and conduct outreach programs that educate people about the importance of nature conservation. Then I collaborated with NGOs, researchers, and government agencies to integrate art into conservation efforts. My expertise in visual storytelling enables me to craft art content that influences conservation. I've worked with the Andhra Pradesh and Kerala Forest Departments, and contributed to the development of a Nature Interpretation Centre at EGBC.
Through my unique blend of art, architecture, and ecology, I aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and promote sustainable coexistence.
