Based on the information obtained on terrain, forest type, wildlife status and pipeline route from topo sheets, project authorities, forest departments of the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and from the field data collected during the reconnaissance survey, three important wildlife areas of immense conservation significance have been identified for intensive study for EIA. These are :

1. Proposed Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary, Pohri (Great Indian Bustard habitat).

2. National Chambal Sanctuary , at Morena and Dholpur (gharial, dolphin, otter and fresh water turtle habitat).

3. Ram Sagar Lake, Dholpur (Migratory Water fowl habitat).
