The system has a modular architecture and is organised into 4 modules that have specific features to provide the users with a rapid access to information needs related to different aspects of EIA.

Module 1 :  Knowledge based system for promoting training in EIA legislation, procedures and environmental guidelines.

Module 2 :  Decision support system for conducting environmental assessment of development projects in different sectors.

Module 3 :  Decision support system for the review of EIA reports and statements received for discharging responsibilities as an advisory body.

Module 4 :  Decision support system for environmental auditing.

The module 1 EIA ~ TRACK has been developed in hyper text markup language. Development of subsequent modules is under progress and have been developed using HTML, Java Applets, Java Scripts, Visual Basic Script and image processing software tools.
