Summary

Salaya-Viramgam Pipeline
Project Profile
The 141 km long existing crude oil pipeline originating from an oil terminal at Viramgam and terminating at Koyali forms a section of existing Salaya - Mathura Pipeline. In order to augment the capacity of this section from 7.5 MMTPA to 13.5 MMTPA, a 17 km long loop line is proposed in the section of existing Viramgam Koyali (VK) Pipeline between chainage numbers 63.0 km and 80.0 km. This loopline will be laid within the RoW of existing VK Pipeline. The areas enroute the loopline are agricultural lands, rivers and village ponds.
Predicted Impacts
The proposed 17 km long loopline in the existing Viramgam - Koyali Pipeline section is an augmentation project to increase the existing capacity of crude oil being transported from an oil terminal at Viramgam to refinery near Vadodra. Since the loop line is proposed to be laid in the existing RoW of Viramgam - Koyali Pipeline, no ecological impacts are being visualised in the event of project implementation.
Project Analysis
This augmentation project within the RoW of existing pipeline project does not command major ecological significance.
Decision on Environmental Clearance
