Pipeline Specification & Design Details

The proposed 505 km long pipeline will originate from 8ijapur. The pipeline diameter (OD) will vary from 71 cm to 76 cm. The pipeline will be designed and constructed in accordance with the provisions of ANSI/ ASME CODE 831.8 (for Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems) for maximum gas pressure of 92 Kg/cm2 and temperature 65oC. The proposed pipeline would be laid underground with a normal minimum soil cover of 1.0 meter. In the sections where the proposed pipeline follows the alignment of the existing pipeline, it would be laid parallel to the existing line in the common right of way (ROW) , keeping a clear distance of 5 meter from the existing pipeline. For the new sections a 30 meter wide strip of ROW would be acquired. The proposed line would be laid 5 meters inside from left edge of ROW in the direction of flow. Major rivers viz., Yamuna and Chambal will be crossed using either of the two methods -Horizontal Direction Drilling (HDD) or open cut method. However none of these two methods have been considered as a final choice so far. Entire pipeline system will be protected against external corrosion by effective cathodic protection system. Monitoring and control of the whole pipeline operation will be carried out from a control room by installing a tele-supervisory computer and data acquisition system. A dedicated telecommunication network would serve as carrier vehicle for the supervisor control system. |
