The forests of Guna division have been very rich in wildlife till the recent past. The loss of forest cover due to reckless felling of trees, rampant grazing, and recurring annual fires and poaching have together lead to depletion of wildlife species from these forests (Sharma 1984) .Appendix -IV provides the list of wild animals of the Guna Forest Division.
