Some of the spots through which the proposed pipeline is routed were monitored for three days during March 28 to 30, 1993. During monitoring, a maximum of 4 adult female, 1 adult male and 2 juvenile gharials were seen. Four species of turtles viz. , Kachuga kachuga, Kachuga dhongoka, Trionyx gangeticus and Lessimys punctata were also seen basking on rocky outcrops and on sand banks. Evidence of nesting of Kachuga Kachuga was also confirmed from the area. Apart from this, there was an evidence of Smooth Indian otter using this stretch.
