Wolf food habits
| Wolf scats were collected opportunistically. Over 100 wolf scats were collected from trails, wolf dens and wolf rendezvous sites. Scats were analyzed by procedures described by Kroschgen (1980). Food habits of wolves were determined primarily by examination of epidermal and medullary characteristics of prey hair remains in scats (Keogh, 1983). |
