The project area is mostly hilly intertwined with several rivers and gentle streams. The average height of the hills is about 900m. The hill ranges run in north-south direction with an average height of 920m above mean sea level. As such the rivers also flow either from north to south or south to north. The eastern sector is higher than the western part. The airport site is located on an elevation of 150m above the mean sea level. The site is covered with vegetation comprising mostly of bamboo and grasses.
