For assessment of the magnitude of environmental impacts of the proposed airport, the views of different stakeholder groups were also collected through their wide spread participation. In this way the significance of environmental effects from the project could be linked to the direct and indirect environmental and socio-economic impacts that it may cause to people living in the project's sphere and influence. Based on this, it can be concluded that the project is not likely to result in any kind of conflicts, tensions and deprivations that would influence the socio-economic profile of the region. The proposed project is being visualised as a major developmental feat for the well being of the people of Mizoram. The fact that the people of Lengpui town have made voluntary donations of their land for the airport site and the ancillary development is a reflection of the high stakes of people in the development that is being proposed.
