| Dr. Ralf Aschemann is an expert in application, evaluation, quality insurance and development of environmental assessment instruments and tools, especially with regards to EIA and SEA. He is lecturing at Graz University for the distance learning course of the World Bank and the International Association for Impact Assessment on “SEA in China”. Currently, he is engaged in three larger EC funded projects: One on “Promotion of European Education on Environmental Assessment for Third Country Audience”, a second deals with the transposition of the EC SEA Directive in Croatia, and the third focuses on “Strengthening institutional capacity for implementing and enforcing SEA and Reporting Directives” in Romania. Ralf did a lot of EIA and SEA studies, e.g. he co-authored the study “SEA and Integration of the Environment into Strategic Decision-Making” commissioned by the European Commission and he is one of the editors of the forthcoming SEA Handbook (Earthscan, January 2008) | |
