| Dr. P. Soni holds a doctoral degree in Botany from the Banaras Hindu University. She is presently heading Ecology and Environment Division of Forest Research Institute. In this capacity, she is directly involved in planning, execution and coordination of research projects in various disciplines of forest ecology and imparting training on ecological restoration. She also received training in forestry at Sabah Forestry Research Institute Malaysia and the Lead Environmental Auditor training at Marsden International, U.K.
Dr. Soni has undertaken consultancy assignments for various agencies including Steel Authority of India, Uranium Corporation of India Ltd., M/s Faridabad Gurgaon Minerals, State Forest Department of Uttaranchal and Commonwealth Games. She is a life member of the Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservation; Indian Society of Tree Scientist and General Secretary and life member of the Indian Foresters. |
