| Dr. Pawan Kumar obtained his Master’s degree from University of Allahabad and has been trained as a forester in Dehradun. He served as Professor & Head at University Department of PG Studies in Forest Management at Ranchi in1987. Before joining the Narmada Control Authority of the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India in 1990 as Director, he introduced EIA curriculum in University and designed under graduate and post graduate courses in the field of environment and forests. He is a key member/contributor for number of policy making bodies concerned with EIA.
He has contributed significantly in the field by fixation of errors, SWOT analysis and designing and applying EIA/SEA methodologies on issues of health, wildlife, fisheries, catchment, agriculture, forestry, command area and rehabilitation for major river valley projects in Narmada basin in India. He made significant contributions in preparation of draft standards by the BIS on subject specific EIA/SEA and GIS based Environmental Management Planning of water resource projects. |
