Department of Science and Technology sponsored Training Workshop on “Advances in Wildlife Conservation” for Scientists and Technologists from 12th-16th March, 2018 at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun
Department of Science and Technology (DST) has launched a scheme “National Programme for Training of Scientists & Technologists working in Government Sector”. As a part of this scheme, the DST has initiated training programmes exclusively for scientists and technologists. The scheme has been proved to be very popular and meaningful initiative towards capacity building and empowering the scientists and technologists in a holistic manner.

1st Wildlife Institute of India MSc Alumni meet
One of the flagship courses at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has been its two year Master’s programme (Wildlife Science), affiliated to the Saurashtra University, Gujarat. It has been twenty six years since the start of the first course in 1987. A well trained and competent pool of 117 wildlife professionals from thirteen courses has been created, which is actively engaged in serving the cause of wildlife conservation.

DST-SERB School in Herpetology (1-15 October, 2015)
Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun will conduct the 3rd SERB School in Herpetology (Second Phase) for imparting training in various branches of Herpetology. Twenty young researchers from India and five from SAARC countries having aptitude for herpetological research will be selected. Scholars who are MSc. final year, PhD. scholars, postdoctoral fellows or young faculty members may apply. Exceptional candidates without the above mentioned qualifications may also apply. Faculty would be leading researchers in Herpetology from different parts of the country and abroad.

Third course on Wildlife Conservation for Wildlife Enthusiasts (5–14 October, 2015)
The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) intends to conduct the 3rd course on wildlife conservation for wildlife enthusiasts from 5–14 October, 2015. Professionals without any formal education, training and experience of wildlife biology/conservation will be given preference in the course. The course will involve five days of class room sessions at WII followed by a five days field visit. The total number of participants in the course will be 20. The training fee for this course is Rs.
