Engagement of one Project Veterinarian under the project 'Strengthening veterinary interventions in Tiger Reserves" (last date August 31, 2014)

No : WHM/Vet/355/Project Veterinarian Strengthening veterinary interventions in Tiger Reserves The Wildlife Institute of India provides inputs on wildlife health activities to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India (National Tiger Conservation Authority and Central Zoo Authority) as well as various state-wildlife agencies. Recent times have witnessed a manifold increase in such interventions provided by the Institute to various agencies. These include inputs on issues related to reintroduction/translocation; rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals in distress; capture for radio-collaring and human-wildlife conflict mitigation and managing health of wild animals including investigations of disease events. The NTCA has granted funding support for carrying out such activities. The Institute wishes to engage services of competent veterinary professional for providing technical assistance in the activities of the Institute. Engagement of the Project Veterinarian is purely of temporary nature and co-terminus with the project. It does not imply any assurance of guarantee for subsequent employment in the institute. No claim for permanency or subsequent absorption in the Institute will be entertained. The engagement will initially for the period of one year which may further be extended for the period of one year based on the Institute’s need and the performance by the project veterinarian. The essential and desirable qualifications, emoluments are given below:

Mode of Engagement All interested candidates should send their application in the prescribed format (Annexure – I) by post to the Head, Department of Wildlife Health Management, Wildlife Institute of India, P.O. Box # 18, Chandrabani, Dehradun, Uttarakhand on or before 31st August 2014. The shortlisted candidates may have to appear for a screening test (to test their proficiency in Wildlife Sciences) and those qualifying the written test would be interviewed.
